Visiting the European Parliament

The project “IMAGinE – I would like to take a picture” took place in Kunstschule Mittelweser with students from Belarus, Ukraine and Germany. In the first week of June, the works were shown as part of a Europe-wide presentation at the European Parliament in Brussels.

War, the COVID-19 pandemic and political difficulties could not stop the project. The exchange continued online through sketches, ideas and the hope of meeting again. Some participants from all three countries eventually travelled to Brussels with Lilia Gavrilenko and presented the works at the European Parliament – an event and achievement of which the art school is very proud.

At the opening of the exhibition were, among others, Martin Guse, head of the education and documentation centre at the Pulverfabrik Liebenau, Lena Düpont and Lilia Gavrilenko with project participants and students from the police academy. To the right of Lilia was Angelika Anoschko from the “Understanding and Reconciliation” association.
